A few of my favorite things

Two of my favorite things in the world-

TOMS Shoes

I have three pairs of TOMS and wear them all the time. They are awesome shoes and are made for an awesome cause...for every pair of shoes you buy a child in need gets a pair of shoes. Going on a shoe drop is on my bucket list. I wear my TOMS necklace every day, and when you purchase a necklace a child gets a pair of shoes too!

FEED Bags

I have 3 FEED bags (the forth one is on its way) and I am compleatly obsessed with them. The one shown above is the Holy Grail of FEED Bags. It costs $195 but the bag is
"ha
ndcrafted in Kenya by a coop of women and deaf Kenyans, each FEED 2 Kenya bag includes a $100 donation to the UN World Food Program's School Feeding operations in Kenya.
Therefore, not only does this purchase support women and deaf Kenyan artisans, but the donation provides nutritious school meals to two Kenyan children for one year."

FEED offers a selection of Bags, backpacks and other products that help provide meals for children all over the world

**ALERT AMAZING SUMMER OPPORTUNITY**

I found this link through a friend and it is totally worth checking out if you are interested in volunteering abroad.

RCDP NEPAL

it's an awesome site that has volunteer and intern projects in Nepal, India and Tibet. The organization started in Colorado in 1998 and has grown so much.
If I didn't have my summer already somewhat planned out I would totally apply to work at the orphanage in Nepal.

Post 1- A little bit about me

Hey everyone I'm so excited to finally have a blog of my own. I've been reading blogs for what seems like forever and always wanted to start my own but never knew exactly what to write on. Then while day dreaming in one of my classes, it hit me...why not write about what I love, traveling, volunteering and finding adventure. But first things first, here are the basics about me...

I got bit by the travel bug at a young age, and by young I mean 5 years old. I went to London for the first time with my mom and I still remember EVERYTHING about our trip. Since then I have been to The United Kingdom, Paris, France 3 times, Greece, China, Spain, the Caribbean Islands and backpacked through Italy, Switzerland and Germany.

I have always been interested in volunteering, growing up my mom was always working on some event or fundraising for something. But I can pinpoint the exact moment I fell in love with service work- Summer 2009 when I volunteered with 19 other FSU students for two weeks in Spain at an HIV/AIDS living facility called Basida. (http://www.basida.org/Default2.htm) I left the trip with a love for helping others and gained some of my closest friends through it.

Through this blog I hope to inspire some of you to incorporate service into your life, explore the world and dive into the unknown. I also hope to create relationships with other backpackers and learn about new destinations I have yet to explore
